about

A small country house, a little garden, 3 kids and a couple of dachshunds running around, Apple Music Country radio playing in the background and me in the middle of it, enjoying the show. Sitting, observing and writing down memories.

Currently raising babies and finding magic in the mundane, the remarkable ordinariness of everyday life. If I could recommend you one book to read, it’s “Practising Simplicity” by Jodi Wilson. It changed the way I see the world.

Hopefully one day, when all my babies have grown, I am able to share news about this clan of dachshunds I have been dreaming about since I was a kid. Although it breaks my heart that the sound of little feet won’t always be the music we dance to week to week (that’s an Alan Jackson reference for you right there), the idea of having many more weens running around my backyard makes me hopeful. Gives me something to look forward to.

That’s where the name of this blog comes from – the tails of short-haired dachshunds remind me of paintbrushes.

A bunch of brushtails – wouldn’t that be some kind of wonderful?!

Have something on your mind?
